Located where Market Street meets the Cape Fear River,

It’s an all-paved space that includes informational plaques to learn about local history, great views of The Battleship North Carolina and the river, and many places to sit like newly constructed benches and bar height seats right at the river’s edge. This location is adjacent to the visitor’s center as well as local shops and restaurants, all within walking distance!

Finish that ice cream cone or sweet treat as you take in the view and sounds of the river, join in on a walking ghost tour or hop on a carriage to learn about the old port of Wilmington, NC. This park is a hub of activity for taking in some local culture and you can walk to several places to eat or shop like Chandeler’s Wharf, The Cotton Exchange, or see the campus of Cape Fear Community College. There’s local plays at Thalian Hall or CFCC’s The Wilson Center and historic homes to tour and art galleries, galore. So much is within walking distance from this park, it’s awesome.
